reflecting...

I have been reflecting a lot lately in spite of the fast pace life we are living in. The nice thoughts and dreams I have always lead me back here- where I am right now- and where you are. In the silence I find I am not alone. It is as if I were in a glass room surrounded by ocean on all sides and a staircase leading up to the place I call home. When I am ready I walk up those stairs with whatever it is I am suppose to take with me that I have gained from this time alone. I come here to spend some time thinking and being quiet. Realizing that I am never by myself. There are others with me who feel the same and who care all over the world. It is good to be quiet for a while because the silence speaks louder than words in the presence of the heart.

Updates on Democratic Party

I am very appreciative to TIG that this is a place where one can share what is going on in their country with others around the world. When we share and compare as a family we learn and grow so much more!
The nation which I was born and raised in is suddenly going through critical changes and yet a dead silence fills the air.
The attack on Iraq has brought back a sad memory of the war in vietnam. I see the pictures everywhere, in museums, in books, and on the television.
The words of the people still live in the music of back then as well as their dreams, their cries, and the roles they played. It's all there in the songs of yesterday. And as I listen and watch I think to myself... What is everyone waiting for? I still haven't heard an answer. It is too quiet.
The 60s have a lot in common with the present. They are the same in many ways-except for one very important thing.
Then, I could hear....
Hear,
The sound of peoples feet marching for peace.
Hear,
The voice of many hearts speaking up for love.
Hear,
The song of the soul as it sang out for freedom without fear.
Maybe something is about to happen...
I really don't know what will happen next.
I do know that Diversity and global awarness can lead us to the truth and the love of it to peace and harmony.
I know that it is better to remain transparent and be seen as we really are.
I know that to have a dream is to be alive.
That to know to much is to know nothing ....
and that to know nothing is telling the truth.
....The dream is the reality...
and reality dreams the dream.

Peace be with you,
Clarita

Support the "Count Every Vote Act"

Support the "Count Every Vote" Act!

Dear Clarita,

On February 18th, Senator Hillary Clinton and I introduced the "Count Every Vote Act" -- critical legislation that will bring overdue reform to our election system and restore the faith of all Americans in their most basic, fundamental right.

Every citizen of this country should be guaranteed that their vote matters, that their vote is counted, and that in the voting booth, their vote has as much weight as that of any CEO, any member of Congress, or any President. Our democracy is the centerpiece of who we are as a nation, and we must take action now to ensure that the American people have full confidence in our electoral system.

Today, I ask you to join the fight. Email your Members of Congress as part of my new e-advocacy campaign, and ask them to join Senator Clinton and me in the Senate, and Representative Stephanie Tubbs-Jones in the House, to co-sponsor the "Count Every Vote Act."

I hope all Members of Congress will join together in a bipartisan way to enact this critical legislation. But if the past is any indication, we still have a lot of work to do. That's why reaching out to your elected representatives is so critical -- especially when multiplied by hundreds of thousands of Americans speaking with the same voice.

With your help, we’ll fight for the kind of comprehensive election reform that our nation so desperately needs. Please email your Members of Congress now -- and then invite all of your friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues to join our cause!

In Friendship,
Barbara Boxer
U.S. Senator

Send a letter to the following decision maker(s):
Your Congressperson
Your Senators

Below is the sample letter:

Subject: Co-sponsor the Count Every Vote Act!

Dear [decision maker name automatically inserted here],

On February 18th, Senators Barbara Boxer and Hillary Clinton introduced the "Count Every Vote Act" -- critical legislation that will bring overdue reform to our election system and restore the faith of all Americans in their most basic, fundamental right.

I urge you to join with Senators Boxer and Clinton, and with Representative Stephanie Tubbs-Jones in the House, to co-sponsor the "Count Every Vote Act."

This critical legislation will bring about the kind of comprehensive election reform that our nation so desperately needs, restoring the confidence of all Americans in the integrity of federal elections.

Sincerely,

Clarita
